September 7 | Awakening the Ancient
Wee Dance Academy presents its debut performance on September 7, 2025 at Charlotte Ballet Center: Awakening the Ancient, a 120-minute journey through Chinese history, told through classical, folk and contemporary dance.
Awakening the Ancient is a dance journey through time. From the present day back to Qing, Ming, Tangand Han dynasties, dancers bring moments of Chinese civilization to life - reviving memories longdormant through light, shadow, and movement. The performance draws inspiration from the spiritual beauty of Dunhuang art and the rich cultural exchanges along the Silk Road, pain ing a heartfelt portrait of East and West in graceful harmony.
Wee Dance Academy was founded in 2025 in Charlotte bv dance educator Leeann Li, with a mission to bridge cultures through dance. All performances are free. Donations are e ncouraged, and help bring this cultural vision to life—covering costumes, animation, lighting, venue, and music.
