The India Association of Charlotte is hoting its 29th annual Festival of India on September 20 and 21, 2025.
The festival is a vibrant celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage. Performances on Saturday take place at
Belk Theater and Booth Playhouse, including classical dance styles of Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, and Odissi, folk dances from several states.
The Cultural Showcase highlights Indian traditions and culture through the colorful lens of Bollywood, taking visitors on a journey highlighting time-honored traditions and how Indian festivals are portrayed in movies. Festival of India also provides a platform for local artists to showcase their artwork done in different media. Other features of the festival include a Souvenir Bazaar, Food Court, a “Big Fat Indian Wedding,” “Charlotte Idol,” a KIds’ Art Competition, saree draping and turban typing, yoga, henna tattoos—and much more. Sunday will feature a “Tapestry of Sound: East-West in Harmony” performance with members of the Charlotte Symphony.
