Regiment One55 Bar & Lounge Soft Opening is October 24

CHARLOTTE, NC—Regiment One55 Bar & Lounge has announced on social media that it will have its soft opening inside Zamindar’s Clubhouse on October 24. Regiment One55 draws inspiration from the exclusive British cocktail bars that proliferated throughout India during its colonial rule that began in 1858 and ran for nearly a century.
The shared vision of executive chef Vamshi Krishna Adi and co-founder David Pandoria, Zamindar’s is rooted in Indian heritage and refined hospitality. According to its web site, Zamindar’s “blends culinary craftsmanship with the energy, emotion, and storytelling of music. From the kitchen to the atmosphere, Zamindar’s is designed as an experience where food, culture, and rhythm come together.” The restaurant’s menu reflects dishes from multiple regions of India, featuring recipes from Adi’s home state of Hyderabad (south-central India) alongside street food and dishes developed during his career. His culinary style reinterprets traditional Indian roots using global ingredients and high-end techniques.
Pandoria spent decades in corporate tech sales while moonlighting as a DJ in the Southeast Asian American community. After treatment in 2023 for stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma, he turned his attention to hospitality.
Adi grew up in Hyderabad, studied at the Culinary Academy of India, and worked in various location in the U.S., including South Carolina and California, before opening restaurants in New York City. His New York portfolio includes Gazab, Kebabishq, and Ishq, which earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2024.
Zamindar’s opened in June in the former Link & Pin location, bringing an upscale Indian dining experience to Charlotte’s South End. The restaurant is named for India’s zamindars (Persian for “landowners”), the feudal landlords who held power as aristocrats in India for centuries.
Reservations for Zamindar’s are recommended, especially on weekends.
