The Arboretum Adds Asian Eateries

Recent and upcoming restaurant openings continue to add an Asian flair to The Arboretum, the 582,651 square-foot regional shopping center located in Southeast Charlotte at the corner of Providence Road and Pineville-Matthews Road. Two new restaurants replace a couple of longstanding restaurants that closed in late 2023.

NUSA Authentic Indonesian Cuisine, which opened in December, recently added lunch hours. It replaced The Charlotte Cafe, which closed in December which had been open at The Arboretum for 30 years.

Curry Junction, a spinoff of the popular Curry Gate restaurant in Charlotte, is set to take over the space previously occupied by the Akropolis Cafe. The Akropolis Cafe, which opened at Eastland Mall 33 years ago and moved to The Arboretum in the early 1990s, closed at the end of October 2023. Curry Junction will feature Indian and Nepalese dishes.

The Arboretum, which is anchored by such large retail chains as Barnes & Noble, Harris Teeter, Petco, Michael’s and Wal-Mart, already boasts an array of Asian restaurants, including:
