Leslie’s Kitchen’s "LumpiaLicious" Food Truck debuted in July and can be found in towns such as Chester, S.C.
BLACKSTOCK, SC—Leslie’s Kitchen’s "LumpiaLicious" Food Truck is the latest entry in the Charlotte area’s Filipino food scene. Based in Blackstock, S.C., the truck can mostly be found in Chester, S.C. It features traditional Filipino dishes such as pancit, adobo, empanadas, and, of course, lumpia, a Filipino-style spring roll version. Filipino spring rolls differ from other Asian spring rolls in that they use a paper-thin wrapper made from just flour, water, and salt. They are also traditionally slender and long and filled with savory or sweet fillings. Lumpia can be served fresh, though are typically deep-fried.
LupiaLicious joins a small but growing number of Filipino dining options in the Charlotte area, joining other food trucks VJ’s Chicken Inasal and Pinoy Plates by Cabalen, caterer Chef Bhal, and restaurant Manila Grill in the Alley 51 food hall at Pineville’s Super G Mart.
