FACC Declamation Contest
The Filipino-American Comomunity of the Carolinas (FACC) invites entries for its Declamation Contest.
The piece for the Declamation is Mi Último Adiós by Dr. José Rizal. Participants may perform in Spanish, Filipino, or English. The deadline for submission is September 30, 2025.
Format
- Participants submit a pre-recorded video of their declamation.
- Video submissions will be evaluated by a panel of theater directors.
- Winning entries will be announced during the 36th FACC Gala – Sulyap Sa Noli.
Video Guidelines
- Length: 3–5 minutes (full performance of the poem).
- Format: Landscape orientation, high-quality audio and video preferred.
- Costume/Props: Allowed but not required; focus should remain on performance and interpretation.
- Background: Simple and distraction-free to highlight the performer.
- Submission: Via Google Drive/Dropbox link or email (specific instructions to be provided).
Criteria for Judging
- Voice and Clarity: 25%
- Emotional Expression: 25%
- Interpretation and Understanding of the Text: 20%
- Stage Presence/Camera Presence: 15%
- Overall Impact: 15%
