CHARLOTTE, NC—Sitar master Niladri Kumaar performs in concert at 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 25 at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Arts Center. Hailed as a maverick musician and composer, a celebrated ambassador, and an Indian music icon. Kumaar is one of the most compelling and innovative stars and a serious exponent of Indian classical music.
He frequently collaborated with the late Zakir Hussain, their sitar-tabla duo one of the most popular and prominent collaborations of Indian music. Kumaar performs in Charlotte with Agnelo Fernandes (keys), Sambit Chatterjee (drums), and Satyajit Talwalkar (tabla). This concert is presented by Blumenthal Arts and the Indian Performing Arts Association of Charlotte.
