June 27 | DragonBoat Beafort’s 13th Annual Race Day
BEAUFORT, SC—DragonBoat Beaufort’s 13th Annual Race Day takes place on Saturday, June 27, from 8:00 to 4:00 pm. Unlike previous festivals, which took place at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, the 2026 version will be along the waterfront in Port Royal., thanks to temporary closures of key areas at Chambers Park.
DragonBoat Beaufort was inspired by the documentary film Awaken the Dragon, presented at the Beaufort International Film Festival in February 2012. It told the story of Dragon Boat Charleston’s cancer survivor dragon boat racing team, and after the viewing, several people agreed to start a dragon boat team in Beaufort. DragonBoat Beaufort is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to assisting cancer patients who live, work, or receive treatment in Beaufort County.
