Deepa Gopinath is a full-time artist specializing in textured and sculptural paintings.
Her artistic journey began as a passionate hobby during her childhood days. With a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, Deepa worked as a software engineer for six years. But her passion for painting grew stronger over time, leading her to pursue art full-time eight years ago.
Deepa’s artistic practice encompasses travel-inspired landscapes, textured abstracts (primarily florals and animals) along with abstract and realistic portraits, and traditional and contemporary Indian folk art forms. She mostly uses acrylic paint, acrylic mediums, and clay to create textured pieces—reserving traditional folk art techniques for specific works. Vibrant, bold colors are a hallmark of her style, infusing energy and life into her paintings.
She has showcased her works in exhibitions across North Carolina and Georgia and has created custom commissioned pieces for clients. As an artist, her goal is to contribute happiness and color to our wonderfully imperfect world, striving to stay joyful and inspire the same in others through her art.
